Vintage Collectibles

Vintage Design and Style

The selection of vintage collectibles on offer at Forfar Road Gallery and Collectibles is both interesting and varied. Items are typically vintage, produced during the mid to latter part of the 20th century. The collection is generally based on the preference and taste of the gallery owner, in the hope that others might have a similar taste and appreciation of the style, design and timeless beauty of items crafted during this time period.
We offer a range of high-quality pieces of mid-century pottery and porcelain and glass pieces from makers such as the West German Scheurich, Dumler and Breiden, Carstens for example. British and Italian makers also feature, along with some of the very popular New Zealand makers; Crown Lynn, Temuka, Hanmer Pottery to name a few.
The selection available also includes grown-up kids toys, die cast vehicles from the likes of Matchbox, Dinky, Corgi, Hornby, Tonka etc. We wish we had kept them from when we were children, right! Reconnect with days gone by with a select range of vintage collectible diecast vehicles.
Another popular and increasingly desirable collectible; vintage audio equipment pieces are on offer. If you have taken a step into the re-emerging craze of Lp’s and turntables, then you will appreciate having matching classic components to hear the full effect. Classic audio has a particular sound quality that has been lost in the emergence of digital audio equipment. Amplifiers, turntables and speakers from the 1970’s and 80’s era have a sound of their own and can be heard playing when you visit the gallery.
